Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Jacques Laperriere was already well into his second career as an assistant coach when the Hockey Hall of Fame finally opened its doors to him in 1987. A six-time Stanley Cup champion with the Montreal Canadiens, Laperriere had just added a seventh Cup in 1986 as a member of Jean Perron's coaching staff when he was inducted to the Hall of Fame 13 years after a serious knee injury forced him to retire in 1974. This is the original Hall of Fame ring that was presented to Laperriere upon his induction. The Hockey Hall of Fame's original logo is on the face of the ring. "Jacques Laperriere, June 1987" is engraved on the inside of the band along with "14K". There is a professional repair at the back of the band and the black enamel in the circle that surrounds the face of the gold ring exhibits some wear at the edges. This simple and classy size 10 ½ ring comes along with Jacques Laperriere's signed letter of authenticity.
