Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016

Originating with either the Quebec Beavers who played in the CAHL from 1926-1935, or the namesake team that played in the late-1930s in the Quebec City Junior League, we have a gorgeous vintage Quebec Castors wool sweater. A label from the Scott Knitting Co is affixed to the inner bottom hem, with a “Camille Demers” name tag attached to the collar. Featuring a dual-felt crest, a centralized beaver has been cut away from the top layer of felt, with “Castors” above and “Quebec” below. Multiple white striping bands across the chest, neck line and sleeves have been utilized, with large thick felt number “18” on verso.
Measuring approx. 25” from the top collar to the front bottom hem, with each sleeve roughly 31” from the collar to the bottom of each cuff, the garment appears to be a men’s medium or large. The sweater remains in pleasing condition, with just a few minor issues. There are a few light stains along the neckline and right elbow, with just a few small holes scattered about. The red felt on verso has started to bleed into the surrounding fabric slightly, with team repairs present on the lower front and on both sleeves.
