Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
The old Minneapolis Millers of the USHL come vividly to life through this astoundingly beautiful circa 1940s game-worn wool hockey sweater. The vibrant green, red and cream colors of the triple-felt “M” crest sewn on the front and the number “5” on the back are positively striking! The roots of the modern NHL Minnesota Wild’s color scheme is plain to see in this superb Millers gamer, which displays its original O’Shea and size 42 tagging on the inner hem at the left hip. This vintage wool wonder is remarkably long in the trunk at 34 1/2" from the top of the shoulder to the tail. Beautifully preserved on the whole with light stains and a couple of holes that do not diminish its display.
There are two holes, one on the front left shoulder and the other on the right sleeve. The most significant stains are two vertical reddish-brown lines on the right front tail near the side seam.
