Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Originating from the collection of ex-NHL trainer Danny Wood, we have a Kansas City Scouts jersey along with a pair of Scouts game-worn gloves from the mid-1970s. The jersey is most likely a prototype, as true Scouts jerseys from the period had blue numbers, as opposed to the red examples on the offered garment. Wilson size tagging remains firmly affixed to the collar of the v-neck durene, with tackle twill numbers on the sleeves and reverse. No crest was ever attached, but a vintage example also obtained from Danny Wood will be included. There are a few large stains on the front and lower band, along with a few fainter examples on the reverse.
The accompanying gloves are KOHO 7001 models, and they’re attributed to Dave Hudson. In Scouts colours, the gloves feature screened on identifiers along with cloth labels. “11” has been handwritten in each in black marker, with the gloves showing nice use with wear to the leather in spots, especially along edges. The palms also show wear, with a rip through the first layer on the right hand glove.
