On November 8th 2014, the Montreal Canadiens honored one of their greatest defenseman, Guy Lapointe, by retiring his #5 to the rafters of the Bell Centre prior to the game. The Montreal Canadiens wore for this game a set of jerseys with a special patch on the breast honoring Lapointe, and these jerseys were worn throughout the game.
Classic Auctions is honored to collaborate with the Montreal Canadiens to offer the team’s jerseys worn for that historic game, and each jersey will come with a Montreal Canadiens / Classic Auctions letter of authenticity.
From that very special evening, we have David Desharnais’ worn Montreal Canadiens jersey. Size 54 tagging appears in the collar, with embroidered NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with attractive dual-colour tackle twill numbers along with the mighty CH team crest, the important Guy Lapointe number “5” patch sits over the right breast. The team patch sits on the inside hem, and its numbered A03717. A decisive 4-1 win for the Habs over the Wild, Gallagher and Eller scored in the second, with a pair added in the third by Sekac and Pacioretty to seal the victory. Desharnais assisted on Pacioretty’s third period goal, along with blocking a pair of shots and winning 53% of the faceoffs he participated in. Notable game-wear on the garment includes a couple dark marks on, and near the upper white striping band on the right sleeve.
