Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
Nifty little treasures here were once part of General Mills’ cereal boxes and appeared on the fronts, with nearby text reading “Free Hockey Star Picture on Back” and repeated in French. The backs included action photos, with stars giving hockey tips. Once thought to have been complete at eight, the group of nine (2-3/4” square) cards here can be considered a complete known set. Condition is rather impressive with those of Glenn Hall, Bob Nevin and Bob Pulford crease-free and only light surface scratches affecting cards of Gordie Howe and Bobby Rousseau. A small, (less than an inch), light crease is spotted in cards of J.C. Tremblay, Gump Worsley, Dave Keon and Frank Mahovlich, the latter the most recently discovered example. Fantastic food issue collectibles to entice serious hobbyists!
