Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Averaging over 26 wins a season throughout his HOF career, Ed Belfour would amass a career-high 43 in 1990-91, and would set a then-franchise record for the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2002-03 of 37, with the 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild, on April 3, 2003. We offer the stick used by Eddie the Eagle to set the record, which has since been beaten by Frederik Andersen in 2017-18. A Christian model with “Belfour” twice stamped, his trademark eagle has been affixed at the heel, with the original white tape on the blade, and yellow gauze over the handle and knob. The important particulars have been handwritten on the reverse of the upper shaft with "2-1 Win vs Mini - 37th Win - 02/03 - Franchise record wins in a season". The stick exhibits nice game-use with marks to the taped section of blade and wear to the underside, with red paint transfer over the upper blade, the top edge of the paddle and upper shaft. Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from the Ed Belfour will accompany.
