This Bell K1 helmet, tagged 2002-9 and painted by Bell Racing Europe in Jacques' traditional paint scheme was used during three Grand Prix’s in the 2002 season. The helmet was first used during the British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone where Jacques started 9th and finished 4th. It is then used again during the French Grand Prix where he qualified 13th but failed to finish after an engine problem on lap 35. The helmet then makes one more appearance during the European Grand Prix weekend held at the famous Nurburgring circuit where he started 19th and finished 12th. The helmet shows fantastic use inside and out and as per all of Jacques’ helmets the top and lower vents have been taped off and extra eye-port foam has been added and the full race radio remains intact. Bell has added stickers, flags of the countries where the helmet was worn. The helmet has been photo-matched to a number of images from all three race weekends. No visor was present on the helmet so one of Jacques’ vintage BAR Honda visor was mounted on it and it is signed by Villeneuve. Also included is the original Bell carrying bag with “J.V. 2002-09” handwritten annotations. This item is from Jacques Villeneuve’s personal collection and will come with his signed LOA.
