Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
The Detroit Red Wings dominated the NHL through the first half of the 1950s and HOF left wing Ted Lindsay was front and center for the four Stanley Cup wins in Hockeytown from 1950-54. Terrible Ted won the Art Ross Trophy in 1949-50 and was named to the NHL First All-Star Team eight times and the Second Team once in a 10-year span from 1948-57. “Lindsay” is stamped on the shaft of Ted’s 1950s Red Wings Northland game-used stick that retains his original tape jobs on the knob and blade. Lindsay’s retired No. 7 is handwritten below the knob. This gamer was varnished and there is vintage tape that was added to secure a crack low on the shaft.
“Lippman’s” and “Northland Pro” stamps remain on the shaft. The bottom edge of the tape job on the blade is worn through and the blade exhibits plenty of wear from game use, with a chip at the heel.
