Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
This gorgeous and forever classic-style Chicago Black Hawks jersey was game-worn in 1972-73 and it’s been attributed to Jerry Korab. With proper Wilson and Gunzo’s store supplier tagging in the collar as well as “73” year patch on the inside hem, this jersey sports dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and back numbers as well as beautiful matching embroidered tomahawk patches over both shoulders. We should note that according to the LOA that will accompany, Korab would have worn this jersey in 1972-73 as a #22, and there is evidence of former numbers instead of the current “8’s” as the jersey was later recycled as a #28 by the Hawks.
This vintage game-worn Chicago Black Hawks jersey that’s been attributed to Jerry Korab shows great use including a large hole/streak on the lower front with fabric separation, an unrepaired hole on the left sleeve, and a faint stick mark on the back number “2”. The sweater also has 6 team repairs present, with 2 on the front, 1 on the right sleeve, and another 3 on the back.
