Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
Timeless icons of the game are represented in the following two folk art style shadow boxes. The Williams box has some great newer and vintage items of Teddy ballgame, including a few youthful images, like an oval portrait of Ted in full swing, a Ted's Root beer bottle cap, a bosox logo, and an image of his HOF plaque. The back of the shadow box has a notation stating "PS - Paint is original Fenway green from the ballpark, Boston, MA"
The Mantle box also has some cool vintage and newer items including an oval portrait of The Mick at bat in full swing, with his iconic #7 in full view, a button from his retirement night in 1969, a Yankees logo, and his HOF plaque. Both shadow boxes measure approximately 12 1/2" × 18 3/4".
A signature of the creator of these interesting and visually pleasing boxes adorn the back of both, we just can't quite make out the name. A great pair of display pieces representing true baseball immortals. Also included are vintage Ted Williams and Mickey Mantle model gloves. Gloves have been worn but will display nicely in your vintage baseball memorabilia collection.
