Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
Extremely popular with collectors since their introduction over half a century ago, Bobble Head dolls continue to be highly regarded and valued today. Three different Montreal Expos nodders are included in this lot, with two different gold base examples, one batter and one pitcher, and one green base. The batting gold base example has general signs of wear, as well as a few cracks that start at and around his chin, and move up through his face. More wear is also visible around the bottom section of the head, with “Japan” stamped on the bottom. The pitching gold base doll also shows general wear, with a chip on his hat, as well as hairline cracks around the mouth and chin area, with more hairline cracking taking place around his feet and legs. This doll has a sticker underneath with “Japan”, and it has the address of a distributor in California. The third bobble head is a green base example, and it’s the prize of the bunch. With its original box (very good) and no signs of damage, the doll remains in excellent condition. The green base nodder is approx. 7” tall, while the two gold base Expos are between 6 ½” and 7”.
