Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015

It looks like there’s probably an interesting story behind how Brian Noonan’s 1996-97 Vancouver Canucks game-worn jersey made its way onto NHL ice. Noonan was acquired by the Canucks from the Rangers in a late-season trade. Based on the NHL Authentic Center Ice tagging in the collar and the tear in the middle of the Maska Ultrafil flag tag in the back of the neck along with the size 54 flag tag, this jersey with a fight strap and the Canuck Place patch sewn on the right shoulder may have been snagged at the last minute from the team store and prepared for and used by Noonan when he arrived in Vancouver after the March 8, 1997 trade that saw him and Sergei Nemchinov join the Canucks in exchange for Russ Courtnall and Esa Tikkanen. Really solid game use to report here with black marks all over the front tail as well as on both sleeves and the right lower back, red paint transfer on the back of the upper right sleeve and shoulder and board burns on the sleeves. An LOA from the Vancouver Canucks will come with this jersey.
