Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Anyone familiar with the history of sports in Canada knows that lacrosse was around way before hockey, in fact, it was Canada's official national sport. Now it's recognized as our summer game, with hockey of course being our winter national sport. A number of notable early Hall of Fame hockey players enjoyed the game, including Newsy Lalonde, Clint Benedict and Jack Darragh. A nifty jersey available here in the form of Jamie Roy's 2003 NLL Ottawa Rebels Lacrosse team-signed game-worn jersey. Worn in their final game, this jersey was obtained in a "Win the shirt off the player's back" contest. In great condition and showing game use and some staining, it's graced by approx. 10 Rebel player signatures including Jamie Roy. SP and Pro 58 size tagging remains in the collar. This is definitely a cool piece.
