Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023

Playing in Toronto late in his career for a trio of seasons, Terry Sawchuk saw action in 10 of the 12 playoff games including the entire Stanley Cup finals when the Leafs last hoisted Lord Stanley's hardware. This stick was used by the legendary keeper during his time in Ontario (1964-67). A CCM Pattern Made Custom model with "Sawchuk" stamped to the upper shaft, the original black tape remains on the blade and paddle, with the white tape over the handle/knob different from Terry's usual tape job and looking like a replacement tape job. The stick shows wear to the taped blade and numerous marks to the paddle. There is also a tiny hairline edge crack at the toe. Sawchuk remains arguably the greatest goaltender in NHL history.
