Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
A first round selection in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, goaltender Martin Biron spent 14 seasons in the NHL, also representing Canada at both the World Juniors and World Championships. We have a Buffalo Sabres jersey that was worn by the Quebec native in 2002-03, and it’s been photo-matched. “Goalie Style” labeling sits along the collar with a size “58” fly tag, with embroidered KOHO and NHL crests over the back neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with an attractive crossed-swords team crest with embroidered detailing, the “Third Set 1” jersey has been accented with slanted tri-layer tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. Game-wear includes just a few random marks, including an example over the left shoulder. We should also note that the nameplate has been removed. Regarding the previously mentioned photo-match, Getty Images #52422179 and #52422164 have been matched to the partially washed-out black mark on the lower portion of the number "3" on the right sleeve, while Getty Image #52422184 has been matched to the black mark on the left shoulder which is going into the team crest. A patch from MeiGray numbered “A00843” is affixed to the inside hem, with a matching LOA to accompany.
