Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
"Do you have any Exhibits?" is a question vintage hockey card dealers are often asked and the answer is usually "no", for these black and white postcard-size cards are indeed scarce. Fantastic find here includes a total of 44 of these highly-sought treasures, all depicting members of the Montreal Canadiens. Individual poses include Hall-of-Famers Richard (2 different), Blake, Beliveau (2 different), Bouchard (2), Johnson, Olmstead, Geoffrion, Harvey, Lach, Moore and Kenny Reardon, along with Curry (2), Gamble, McNeil, Abbot, Fillion, Laycoe, Locas, MacPherson, Maznick, Meger (2), St-Laurent, Warwick, Mosdell and Billy Reay. The remaining 14 exhibit cards all depict game action. On thick cardboard stock, these will surely please those who have been searching for them for years.
The majority of the exhibit cards display nicely with no major problems, with corner wear, toning and the odd crease or wrinkle the main concerns, with most having a minor stain over the reverse. One of the Beliveau cards has horizontal creasing across the center, while both Richard cards display beautifully, with just light corner wear and a mild stain over each reverse.
