A first-round pick in both the NHL and WHA drafts of 1973, Lanny McDonald made his NHL debut for the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1973-74 and spent considerable time with the blue and white before a trio of seasons in Denver with the Colorado Rockies. McDonald would conclude his HOF career in Calgary, and serve as one of the most beloved Flames in history throughout his eight seasons with the club. This Calgary Flames jersey was worn by McDonald in 1987-88, his second-last NHL season. A Maska label is affixed to the collar, with the jersey measuring-out to roughly a size 50. Styled with the Flames team crest in layered tackle twill, “9” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with the 1988 Calgary Olympics crest residing over the left shoulder. There is also evidence of a former crest over the left breast – most likely the alternate’s “A”, with the dual-clasp fight strap intact and showing light fraying. Sporting numerous marks over the front and sleeves, there is also a slit on the lower reverse. Hailing directly from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Lanny McDonald will accompany.
