Never easy to find are any of these 6 gems offered here that includes a Hendy 1932-33 NHL Guide and Record Book (with Howie Morenz on the cover); a 1933-34 General Motors Hockey Broadcast Guide (with schedule and players’ stats etc); a 1935-36 General Motors Leafs, Maroons, and Canadiens pocket schedule; a 1936-37 “Who’s Who in the NHL” from the St. Lawrence Starch Company (makers of Bee Hive pictures), with envelope included; a 1939-40 French-language Sweet Caporal NHL Guide; and a 1948 Official National Hockey League Guide. All offered in good condition with various wear but remain complete and intact and would be a nice addition to anyone’s vintage hockey collection.
The 140-page 1932-33 NHL Guide (with Morenz on the cover) measures 3 ¼” x 5 ½” and has 2 pieces of tape on the cover spine which shows some wear. The 4” x 6” 1933-34 General Motors Hockey Broadcast Guide, with an attached schedule inside that folds out, is a 48-pager that shows normal wear and includes the date and a name handwritten on the back cover. The 1935-36 General Motors schedule, when unfolded, measures 4” x 7 ¼” and the Leafs section has had the results handwritten in. The 4 ½” x 6” 45-page “Who’s Who in the National Hockey League" from 1936-37 is in nice condition but includes a page of handwritten notes at the back that, among other things, mentions that Howie Morenz was bought by the Canadiens from the Rangers.The accompanying envelope from the St. Lawrence Starch Co. is in very nice condition aside from a series of numbers pencilled in on the back. The 102-page 1939-40 Sweet Caporal NHL Guide is in great shape aside from tape and stains on the cover, along with some stains on inside pages. And finally, the 1948 Official NHL Guide (edited by James Hendy) is 112-pages and in very nice condition.
