Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Bill Barilko has signed twice (!) on this 1947-48 Stanley Cup champion Toronto Maple Leafs team-signed sheet autographed by 19, including five deceased HOFers. Happy Day has signed at the top in fountain pen ink and the rest of the signatures are in pencil, including fellow deceased HOFers Broda, Apps, Watson and Poile. The Maple Leafs were in the middle of their record run of three straight Stanley Cup titles from 1946-47 to 1948-49 and Apps retired after the season. The 8” x 5” blank sheet is also signed by Boesch, Mackell, Ezinicki, Nick Metz, Don Metz, Meeker, Thomson, Stanowski, Klukay and Stewart. A couple of small light stains and a series of pencil check marks do not diminish this Maple Leafs treasure’s display.
The sheet has two horizontal fold creases. The otherwise blank reverse has “1947-48” written on it in pencil and the names of Canadiens greats Bouchard, Blake, Durnan and Richard, and Teeder Kennedy, with check marks.
