Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Cool vintage rings celebrating two of the greatest ever from the world of boxing, beginning with a circa 1970s Muhammad Ali souvenir World Champion belt ring, a size 10 1/2 with shiny zirconia on the face, surrounded by “World Champion”, while on one shank is the image of a boxing glove reading as “Ali TKO Liston” and “1964” just below, while the opposite side reads as “Muhammad Ali - Ali KO Foreman (misspelled as “Foremen”) and “1974”. On the inside is engraved as “Float Like a Butterfly, Sting Like a Bee", with sterling markings nearby. The ring remains in nice condition with some darkening of the areas and a touch of wear on the “Float like a butterfly” slogan. Also included is a sterling size 9 Joe Louis ring from the 1940s that features a posed fighter on the face and crossed boxing gloves on both shanks. Inner sterling markings are slightly worn and overall condition is good with some tarnishing and darkening on the edges of the detailed images.
