Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
All Jays here beginning with a fine collection of unmarked Christmas cards from 1978 to ’93, with team VP Paul Beeston signing the 1984 example. We also have 21 various Jays press passes beginning with their inaugural 1977 contest through to the '93 World Series, and rounding out the lot is a binder jam-packed with small media and staff cards, with some blank and others typed in, such as one for Jerry Howarth of Telemedia, along with cards of various sizes for clubhouse access, hospitality invites during the 1991 AL Championship Series and 1992 and 1993 World Series, and other intriguing tidbits. This entire lot has been lovingly cared for and nicely placed in mostly orderly fashion in binders that has protected them over the years. The Jays team Christmas cards are from 1978, ’81, ’82, ’83, ’84, ’85, ’86, ’87, ’88, ’89, ’90, ’91, ’92, and ’93, and a 1986 TSN Christmas card is also included. The cards have been preserved in good condition with a few marks on the 1978 and 1981 issues, and the dates have been handwritten in the corners of each. The Jays press passes include a blank one for their April 7, 1977 inaugural game in Toronto, plus one for a week later (with typed name entered). There are also 6 blank 1987 passes, a 1989 Dunedin spring training pass, a 1985 AL Championship Series (with handwritten name), 2 from the 1989 Championships (typed names), opening day 1988 and June 1989 (handwritten names), 1993 for ABC’s Dick Schaap, 4 from 1991 (including 2 for announcer Buck Martinez), 1992 Championship Series (for John Snyder ABC), and one for the 1993 World Series (for ABC’s Michael Rizzo).
