The late Gary Carter is a baseball hero to both New York Mets and Montreal Expos fans. The deceased HOFer’s signed game-worn MacGregor blue shin guards date from his time in the Big Apple in the mid- to late-1980s which were highlighted by a World Series win with the Mets in 1986. Carter starred with Montreal from 1974-84 and returned in 1992 for his Major League swan song with the Expos. Included here are his red All-Star game-worn chest protector and his Expos ABC batting helmet, along with his tri-color Expos game-worn New Era size 7 1/4 baseball cap. Comes with various LOAs as the items come from different lots previously purchased.
The Mets game-worn MacGregor shin guards exhibit loads of game use with great wear to the knee protectors. Gary’s silver paint pen #8 autographs on both shin guards have smudges/loss but are clearly legible.
Carter’s Expos solid blue ABC batting helmet has a size 7 3/8 sticker inside and retains its original padding.
Carter’s red, white and blue Expos New Era baseball cap has a size 7 1/4 flag tag inside the back hem and New Era pro model tagging. Gary’s retired number “8” is handwritten in black marker inside one of the white front panels.
