Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
A couple of really nice 2001-02 jerseys from the now-defunct Montreal Rocket of the Quebec Major Junior League up for grabs here. The Rocket lasted four seasons in the “Q” from 1999-2003 and were named after HOF Habs superstar Maurice “Rocket” Richard. If you look closely at the front crests of these uniforms, you can make out the number “9” formed by the smoke behind the rocket, in a tip-of-the-hat to the team’s namesake. First up is the number "7" gamer worn by Petr Macek, tagged in the collar as a Nike (size) "56", with the partially embroidered crest and double tackle twill numbers and name all sewn on. Numerous marks line the front and sleeves, along with board burns and paint transfer on the sleeves, and pilling is in several areas, including the collar and inside. Puckering is evident on the team crest, name, and numbers as well and jersey shows evidence of a former nameplate. We also have Grant Thomas' number "20" gamer, also tagged as a Nike (size 56), with puckering on the crest, name, and numbers, pilling on the collar, and numerous marks scattered about the front and sleeves and jersey shows evidence of a former nameplate. Thomas spent just one season with the Rocket before continuing on with Cape Breton and Halifax, and tallied 6 points during his time in Montreal. Petr Macek, originally from Slovakia, spent 2 seasons (2001-02 and 2002-03) with the Rocket where he notched 23 points, Cool jerseys that come with an LOA from Classic Auctions.
