Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
From the Western Hockey League comes two game-worn jerseys, beginning with an early-2000s Saskatoon Blades gamer donned by center Joe Barnes who skated for the prairie team for four seasons beginning in 2002 before moving on to minor pro. Tagged in the collar as a “Reebok CHL” with a size “54” flap below, this game is battle-scarred for sure, with tons of game marks on the front, back, and sleeves, and with a team repair found on each of the sleeves and one on the back. Puckering is noticeable on the team crest and we also see clear evidence of a former nameplate. Barnes was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in round 3, 64th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Also up for grabs is a Vancouver Giants jersey worn by d-man Chad Scharff in the mid-2000s. Tagged in the collar as a “Reebok CHL” with a size “56” flap below, the gamer shows light game wear aside from some staining on the collar. Scharff would suit up for the Giants for three full seasons (2003-04 to 2005-06), and moved on to scout, coach, and become Head Equipment Manager for the Giants before graduating to Assistant Equipment Manager for the Edmonton Oilers.
