Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014

Defenceman Mark Ferner wore this terrific Rochester Americans alternate captain’s jersey in the mid-to-late-1980s when the Buffalo Sabres' 1983 draft pick was manning the blueline for the American Hockey League squad, interspersed with call-ups to the bigs. Tagged in the collar as a “Maska Ultafil” but with no size flap, this gamer shows plenty of game-wear, with two team repairs on the right sleeve, a couple above the “A”, and two more on the back of the jersey. As well, tons of marks and stains are scattered about the front, back, and on both sleeves, along with inside pilling and puckering on the team crest and numbers. Great battle-scarred gamer from a warrior who, although only suiting up for 91 NHL games in total with Buffalo, Washington, Anaheim, and Detroit, enjoyed a fine 15-year professional playing career with great clubs like Rochester.
