Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Defenceman Brent Sopel suited up with six NHL teams in his career, including the New York Islanders for one season, the 2005-06 campaign, and we have his game-worn jersey from that year which was wedged between stints in Vancouver and Los Angeles. Tagged in the collar as a size “56”, this white Set 2 jersey has a nice series of dark marks on the front, back, and on both sleeves, as well as a scattering of paint transfer on the sleeves. Sewn on the inside hem is a “MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey” patch with numbers that match the accompanying LOA signed by representatives of MeiGray and the NHL. At this writing, Sopel had just completed his third year in the Kontinental Hockey League after 659 regular season games in the NHL which included the Islanders, Canucks, Kings, Blackhawks, Thrashers, and Canadiens.
