Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Andrei Kovalenko joined the Habs as part of the deal that saw Patrick Roy move west to Colorado, and it was just a few months later when the Russian-born forward played a big part in the historic last game at the Montreal Forum, notching the last goal ever scored on Forum ice when he beat Dallas goalie Andy Moog at 13:56 of the second period. We’ve got Kovalenko’s game-worn Habs gloves when he scored that goal on March 11th, 1996, originally sold by Classic and originally obtained from a Ferland representative. These red, white, and blue Ferland gamers, with “Kovalenko” printed on each cuff, show a nice scattering of game marks, remaining in great condition with no palm holes or other material issues. Awesome display piece, and if so desired, ready to go the next time you suit up. An incredible opportunity to own the gloves used in such a historic moment in time.
