Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
A fine game-used stick from sharpshooting HOFer Pat Lafontaine (ind. 2003), a player who racked up 1013 points in 865 regular season games with the Islanders, Sabres and Rangers. It was with the Islanders that Pat wielded this “Montreal” gamer with original black tape on the blade and white on the butt end which has a handwritten “16” on it. Partially under the knob tape and below is a stamped-on “Lafontaine”, but which has paled somewhat. A scattering of marks run from the heel upwards, and on the blade tape is Lafontaine’s signature in large white marker. (Small areas of the autograph have worn off but overall is clear, bold, and distinct. A nice gamer from one of the greatest American-born players ever.
