Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Great old Sher-Wood gamer from Pete Mahovlich when the big fellow was lacing up in the first stages of his terrific Montreal Canadiens career, the early 1970s. This vintage stick retains its original tape on the knob and blade, although a few strands of the blade tape are no longer, and a scattering of game marks run from the heel upwards. Both sections of accent stripes are intact, and near the top of the shaft is the stamped-on "P. Mahovlich 20". Opposite the stamped name, Peter has signed in clear and vintage black marker, along with the notation "To Dennis The Pollock, Regards". A cool old gamer from a key guy in the Canadiens 1970s lineup, and a pivotal player in the 1972 Summit Series, especially in game 2 in Toronto.
