Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014

A great find is this game-worn Caps jersey attributed to Nelson Pyatt during the 1974-75 NHL season, the first year of the Washington Capitals existence, and definitely cool as gamers from first-year teams are always highly collectable objects. Tagged in the collar as a “Wilson (size) 50”, this original game-worn jersey with the garter-style fight strap features solid game use including a plethora of stains that stand out magnificently on the white areas, along with two team repairs on the left sleeve and another on the front, stick marks are scattered about, and heavy inner pilling and an unrepaired hole is on the front hem. A rare first-year Caps jersey on the block, most likely worn by Pyatt who suited up for 16 games in the ’74-75 campaign after coming over from Detroit, while according to research, two others - Tony White with 5 games and Andre Peloffy with 9 games, also wore #26 that season. Comes with an LOA.
