Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
From Broda, Lumley, Sawchuk, Worsley, Hall, and Bower, and right up to Hextall, Kenesky goalie pads were the standard for the NHL’s top netminders. Emil “Pop” Kenesky developed in 1924 what stands to this day as the typical style of hockey goalie pads. This vintage pair of beauties proudly displays “Made in Canada” beneath the family surname on the tagging on the outside edge of both pads, which stand about 30” tall and remain in absolutely magnificent condition. “Kenesky” tagging is sewn inside the top right pad of these awesome handcrafted goalie masterpieces. A fantastic find for vintage goalie equipment enthusiasts!
