Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Dandy limited-edition framed print showing Canada and the USA in action at the 1976 Canada Cup, the first such tournament of its kind, and one Canada would ultimately win by beating Czechoslovakia in two games in the best of three final. Measuring 22” x 29” in its gold metal frame (with bluish/purple matting, this print is signed by the artist in pencil in the bottom right corner, although we’re unable to decipher the name. The bottom left has 27/150 penciled in as well. A tremendously cool limited-edition print in very nice condition, although it shows several small stain spots on the bottom white border and the matte isn't fitting completely now. Also to note are a few fine scratches and small surface creases, but all in all, this print is majestic and would look stunning on display. Canada and the U.S. would square off in this ’76 tourney during the round robin, on Sept. 5th at the Montreal Forum, with Canada winning 4-2.
