Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Six participating legends of the 1972 Summit Series have signed this 20” x 24” illustrated print that captures various images of Paul Henderson during the series, including the iconic “goal with 34 seconds left” celebration, along with the Canadians lined up at the blueline and the Luzhniki Stadium scoreboard showing the score and time remaining in the Series' dramatic and deciding game 8. Artist Steven Houston’s name and ’97 is written in the right corner, while at the top, Henderson has signed in clear blue marker and added “Goal of the Century”. At the bottom of the print, also signing in clear blue marker, are Canadian stars Stan Mikita, Ron Ellis, Bill White, Frank Mahovlich, and Russian goaltender Vladislav Tretiak. The print remains in wonderful condition with only a few tiny and almost unnoticeable creases on the top border, and comes with two identical COAs for the signatures of Mikita, Ellis, White, and Mahovlich. Definitely would look magnificent framed.
