Magnificently bright red wool sweater is IIHF Hall-of-Famer Alexander Ragulin's 1972 CCCP game-worn jersey from the Sapporo Olympic Winter Games. The legendary Russian defenseman wore this special jersey style featuring bright red wool, white stripes, and big white knit sleeve cuffs that was sported by the Soviet national team when they won their fourth gold medal during the first Winter Olympics staged in Japan. This classic CCCP Olympic wool shows real nice game wear that includes five white thread team repairs on the right sleeve, three more on the left sleeve and another vintage sewing fix on the right rear tail. The outline of Ragulin's removed #5 on the back is clear to see. The numbers were removed on the upper sleeves as well, and the original CCCP letters were also removed from the front. Extremely well-preserved despite the fact that the crest and numbers were removed and a few unrepaired holes that do not diminish its display, this awesome Soviet national team game-worn wool sweater was worn by one of the greatest defensemen in international hockey history during the 1972 Olympics. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
