Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014

Sensational example of goaltender Davey Kerr’s World Wide Gum card from 1937-38 is the likes of which there are very few of – and we’re talking of any player in the 135-card V356 set. Recognized as being worthy of NM-MT 8 status by PSA, this Pop-1 Kerr card is one of only 35 total WWG cards, (all players combined – over 1600 submissions) to earn a mark of NM-MT 8 from the grading firm, with none higher. Added attractiveness is in the low pop numbers for Kerr cards; just eight have ever been sent to PSA for encapsulation. Curious is that Kerr is pictured in a Montreal Maroons uniform, despite having moved on to the New York Rangers way back in 1934! Davey led the NHL with eight shutouts the year this treasure was pulled from a pack.
