Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014

For those hobbyists who have yet to secure it in perfect condition comes a MINT 9 example of Cal Ripken’s first Topps card on which the record-breaker appears solo. It’s one that was one of the hobby’s most chased-after cards while Cal chased Lou Gehrig’s Iron Man record of consecutive games played. From the Topps Traded set of 1982 and featuring first-rate centering, sharp corners and smooth edges, this card #98T is edged on the PSA Population Report by 169 Gem Mint 10s, with, get this, over 8600 submissions of the Ripken card to the company since it began encapsulating pasteboards. Crazy numbers for a guy who played a crazy 2632 straight games!
