Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014

Bee Hive signet-style rings like this one featuring the Maple Leafs’ Sid Smith are forever in demand. The makers of Bee Hive corn syrup introduced these premiums in 1949 and they were available for a couple of years through a mail-in offer. Made to fit any finger, they pictured various NHL stars under a clear Lucite dome. This gilt-lacquered treasure includes a raised image of the Stanley Cup on one side, with "NHL", crossed hockey sticks and a puck on the other. This example is really nicely preserved with only a couple of imperfections on the plastic to note, one above the right side of Smith’s face, that do not diminish this oh-so-coveted bauble's display.
