Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
An international classic in a class by itself, “The Hockey Handbook” by fitness expert Lloyd Percival was originally rejected by one NHL coach as “the product of a three-year old mind.” Others however, including the father of Russian hockey, Anatoli Tarasov, based their training regimes on the principles described by Percival. Tarasov once wrote to Percival “Your wonderful book which introduced us to the mysteries of Canadian hockey, I have read like a schoolboy.” This 1951 edition was signed on the first page in bold blue ballpoint “To Fraser Allan – with best wishes for a successful career in hockey. Lloyd Percival.” Hardcover 320- page book without dust jacket is well handled but is a fascinating read; the first required for players and coaches looking to develop hockey skills.
