Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
A couple of truly legendary figures have signed this classic 1956 NHL Standard Assignment Agreement typed in blue ink and detailing a deal between Maple Leaf Gardens and the Springfield Hockey Club regarding player Robert Butler. Typed as "Sold outright to Springfield for the sum of $1.00. Maple Leaf Gardens have the first chance to purchase Butler's services for $15,000 if he becomes a major leaguer". Beautifully signed in fountain pen by Leafs GM Hap Day and Springfield owner Eddie Shore, along with 2 witnesses, including a "C. Shore", it remains in excellent condition and includes an NHL Central Registry stamp. A wonderful piece with 2 cool HOF sigs.
Eddie Shore was inducted into the Hall in 1947, and Clarence "Happy" Day in 1961.
