Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
In beautiful, almost near-mint condition is this lot of 16 unmarked and fully intact programs and 2 lineup sheets from different Stanley Cup Finals beginning in 1996 when the Colorado Avalanche and Florida Panthers fought for the ultimate prize, and 8 different Cup series after that, ending with the Calgary Flames and Tampa Bay Lightning doing battle. From the '96 Avalanche-Panthers showdown (ultimately won by Colorado), we have 2 Colorado programs with different covers, and 2 from Florida for the June 8th and June 10th, 1996 games in Sunrise. From June 10, 1997 is a Philadelphia Flyers program when the home team took on the Detroit Red Wings (Cup won by Detroit), with the lineup page a separate full page card stock issue. From the 1998 Cup Finals is a Washington Capitals program with the unmarked scoresheet page showing only "visitors", which happened to be the Detroit Red Wings who would win the series. We have 2 programs from the Dallas-Buffalo Cup Finals, one from each city (Dallas would hoist the Cup), and a 2000 Dallas program (with a light corner crease on the cover) when the Stars met the New Jersey Devils in the Finals (won by New Jersey). The Colorado Avalanche would beat the New Jersey Devils in the 2001 Stanley Cup Finals and we have a program from each city, and from 2002 when the Detroit Red Wings and Carolina Hurricanes clashed is a Detroit issue with inserted (and unmarked) scorecard, plus 2 other full-size paper stock lineup inserts. Next is a 2003 Finals program from New Jersey where the Devils and Mighty Ducks of Anaheim battled (Cup won by the Devils), and from 2004 are 2 different programs from Calgary when the Flames and Tampa Bay met head-on (Cup won by Tampa). Also included is a smaller (5 1/2" x 8 1/2") program from Tampa Bay. Just a glorious lot of programs from Cup Finals for the offering here.
