Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
A magnificent display piece that brings forth another trip down hockey history lane, this beauty features members of the Quebec Bulldogs, Stanley Cup champions in 1912 and who defended their title in the spring of 1913. Captain and scoring star Joe Malone, who poured in nine goals in a 14-3 win over the Sydney, Nova Scotia Miners after the NHA-champion Bulldogs faced off against the top Maritime team, is pictured in the middle, slightly above his teammates. The image size is 11 1/2" x 15 1/2" and mounted to a 16" x 22" heavy card stock backing. Gorgeous crease-free, impossible-to-improve collage is a spectacular piece of pre-NHL history. Fellow Hall-of-Famers are Joe Hall (he scored a hat trick in game two against Sydney, a 6-2 win with Malone not suited up), and goaltender Paddy Moran. Others are actually team members who won the Cup in 1912; notably Jack MacDonald, Eddie Oatman, Goldie Prodgers, George Leonard, Walter Rooney and Jack Marks. "Beaudry Photo Quebec" is beneath "Champions of the World", while a great look at Lord Stanley's trophy is front and center.
