Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
The beautiful Central Ontario city of Orillia is known for being the former home of author Stephen Leacock, singer Gordon Lightfoot, and ex-NHLer Rick Ley, but in the early years of the past century, Orillia boasted a powerhouse OHA junior squad who were crowned champions in 1912-13 and 1913-14. We have a nice 10K gold medal from Orillia’s 1913-14 title, displaying on the front the raised image of a hockey player flanked by “1” and “4”, while the reverse is engraved as “OHA Junior Champions, Orillia, K.L. MacNab” along with markings “JDB 10K” at the bottom. Preserved in beautiful condition with normal age darkening and slight touches of wear, but virtually no surface scratching.
