Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014

From the turn of the century when the Stanley Cup was up for grabs from teams far and wide comes a cool medal from the Winnipeg Victorias. This fine 1 ¼” x 1 ½” medal is from the 1903-04 season, made in the shape of a shield with the raised image of a buffalo and crossed sticks on one side and the inscription “Vics Intermediate Champions W.C.H.A. 1903-4 J.H. Gordon” on the reverse. The marking “Dingwall” sits at the bottom. The medal has been nicely preserved with touches of dirt on the edges, faint surface scratching, and slight wear to the wording, but overall is in fine shape and truly a cool historical piece.
