Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Truly fine is this antique Elgin pocket watch that belonged to a member of the Vancouver Young Liberals senior team, a squad in existence for just two seasons - 1922-23 when they won BC’s top senior prize, the Savage Cup, and 1923-24 when the team won the Vancouver City senior league championship but fell to Victoria in provincial semi-final action. The watch, which is not in running condition, is engraved on the inside as “Young Liberals Champs, B.C. – 1923, Vaner -1924, A. Simons – P, presented by B.C.A.B.A, and Vaner Sen. A.B.B.L.” Other engravings in the middle are “Cashier A.W.C.C.O. Gold-Filled Case Made in Canada 354 740”. This old beauty, aside from not working, remains in excellent condition with minimal surface scratching.
