Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
With veterans Messier, Kurri, and Anderson leading the charge, the 1989-90 Edmonton Oilers, without Wayne Gretzky, took out the Boston Bruins in 5 games to hoist Lord Stanley’s mug, their 5th Cup in 7 years, an impressive achievement to say the least. Offered is an unused Sher-Wood stick (with “Green” stamped on the shaft), signed on both sides by a multitude of Oilers from that championship season. On the blade of one side, Oilers assistant coach Ted Green has written in clear black marker as “Best Wishes, Oilers 1990, Ted Green”, while on the shaft, Glenn Anderson, Jari Kurri, Kevin Lowe, Grant Fuhr, and 1 other have inked their names in reasonably clear black marker. On the other side, a 47” length of white tape has been added and signed on, including Adam Graves, Mark Messier, Kevin Lowe, Petr Klima, Craig MacTavish, Grant Fuhr, Geoff Smith, Conn Smythe Trophy winner Bill Ranford, and 4 others. The signatures are in clear marker, although a few are difficult to decipher.
