Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Legendary leader Mark Messier’s circa 1989 NHL All-Star Game /World Championships game-used stick is a Sher-Wood that Moose spray painted orange similarly to others he used during that period for those two special hockey events. Only ''Messier' and ''11' show on the front of the shaft below the HOFer’s black tape knob, although you can see other details of the stick upon closer look. Mess’s original tape job remains on the blade with nice game wear along the bottom and top edges. There is a date stamp low on the back of the shaft that can’t be made out. A great find from the only player ever to captain two different NHL teams to the Stanley Cup.
