Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
One of only six players to win the Stanley Cup with three different NHL teams, Mike Keane wore this 1990-91 Montreal Canadiens gamer two seasons before he claimed his first Cup with the Habs in 1993. The red road beauty has over 15 classic Habs team repairs and a torn seam at the back of the collar that testifies to Keaner’s feisty style. The Maska flag tag in the back of the neck has a very faded ballpoint number that appears to be “48” for the size. The fight strap is intact and there is nice inner pilling on the sleeves. There are five circular sewing fixes on the front of this game-worn jersey, four on the left sleeve, four more team repairs on the right sleeve, one on the right shoulder yoke, and a pair on the back. More game wear shows in board burns and faint black marks on the sleeves.
Keane also won the Stanley Cup with Colorado in 1996 and Dallas in 1999.
The five other players who won the Cup with three different teams are Al Arbour, Larry Hillman, Claude Lemieux, Joe Nieuwendyk and Gord Pettinger.
