Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Hockey icon Joe Malone has signed at the bottom of a letter he wrote in 1967. Malone, who holds the NHL record for goals in a game with seven, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1950 and passed away in 1969, less than two years after writing this response to a collector who was attempting to enlist Malone’s aid in tracking down the signatures of members of the HOF. Beautiful pensmanship on this letter dated Aug. 7th 1967 with Malone’s St. Laurent, Quebec street address that he has signed, “Best regards, Yours in Sport, Joe Malone.” Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
The face of the letter is nice and clean with a bit of aging to the left side. The blank verso has some light stains and paper remnants below the middle of the three folds where it was presumably removed from an album. Included is a Malone HOF hockey card.
