Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Awe-inspiring piece of Montreal Canadiens history from the old Forum is this framed master team photo of the 1962-63 Habs by famed photographer David Bier that used to hang in the hockey temple’s hallowed hallways. Captain Jean Beliveau, Henri Richard, goalie Jacques Plante, defenseman Tom Johnson and snipers Bernie “Boom Boom“ Geoffrion and Dickie Moore are among the 10 HOFers pictured along with Blake, Selke, Reardon and Molson. Their individual portraits and those of the rest of the team, such as Provost, Rousseau, Marshall, Goyette, Backstrom, Berenson, Hicke, Gilles and J.C. Tremblay, Talbot, Fontinato, Gauthier and Maniago, and trainers Galley and Aubut, are individual 6 3/8” x 4 3/8” prints mounted on a David Bier Studios matte with handwritten names for players, staff and executives. The Canadiens’ CH logo and “Club de Hockey Canadien 1962 1963” are all done by hand on the matte that displays to 39” x 59” in its silver-colored metal frame. An awesome and literally unique opportunity! Please note this item will require special shipping arrangements.
